CD Printing and DVD Printing
Our CD and DVD printing machines are recognised as "state of the art" providing your CD and DVDs with a professional, high quality finish. We can also supply you with pre-printed blank CDr or DVDr media if you wish to burn your CDs or DVDs in-house. You may choose from any of the four printing processes below.

Full Colour Digital Print (for low volume requirements)
We are one of only a few companies able to offer commercial offset print quality for low volume requirements, using the latest digital re-transfer technology. Colours, text and photographic images are true to life and eye catching. This amazing process reproduces colours, text and graphic images at 173 lines per inch; leaving inkjet and traditional screen printing (90 lpi) far behind and surpassing magazine print standards (133-150 lpi). To further increase the impact, you may have your image printed over the hub area of the CDr or DVDr. Digital print produces the highest quality print currently available for CDr and DVDr. No other process can match it. The print surface is virtually accident proof; impervious to damage from scratching, moisture, chemicals and UV exposure. (Inkjet print suffers from smearing, colour change and bleeding while the surface will scratch at the slightest touch. Self adhesive labels applied to the disc can damage CD ROM and DVD ROM drives and can throw the disc out of balance to the extent that it is unreadable.)

Thermal Print
Single colour black, blue and red print or full colour print onto silver or white disc. Thermal print is ideal for text and simple graphics. Thermal print is the lowest cost option and is particularly cost effective where volumes are less than 1,000. It is highly durable, waterproof and scratch resistant.
Thermal Print Customisation
This is useful when, for example, a generic, corporate branded CD or DVD is used for a variety of products. We will silkscreen print your corporate branded CD or DVD for you and at a later stage it can be customised with a thermal overprint. The thermal overprint may be graphics, text, variable text or serial numbering.

Full Colour Printed Booklets, Sleeves and Inserts

Discerning customers quickly identify the graphic limitations of inkjet print and colour photocopied paper parts. They demand the quality associated with commercial offset print technology. To meet this demand, Amarok has invested in state of the art digital offset technology. The technology has the ability to print variable text and graphics so that each paper part may be customised. For example, we could print 1,000 CD cases for a training course each with the delegates’ details printed on it together with their company logo.

Silkscreen Print
Silkscreen print produces the highest quality colour print from your artwork. It is most suited to high volume replicated CD ROM/DVD and to blank CDr/DVDr requirements. Final films are needed and Amarok can produce these for you, from suitable artwork.

Graphic Design

Artwork for your CD and DVD packaging and on body print can be supplied to us in many formats. We are able to accept files from most mainstream graphics packages for both PC and MAC. Alternatively our experienced and talented design team will create artwork to your specification. We have produced designs for a wide variety of products from simple jewel case covers to 30 page saddle stitched instruction manuals.

What is CD-R Silk Screen Printing?

CD-R silk screen printing is the same exact type of printing that is performed on regular replicated CDs. Any color combinations are possible, from PMS colors to 4 color process. This type of printing is ideal for an organization that needs to have pre-printed CD-Rs on hand and ready to dupe (even in small quantities)- while retaining the quality and extra "oomph" that a silk screen can provide.

As always, the most cost-effective method is to silk screen 500 to 1,000 or more blank CD-Rs at any one time. Quantities as low as 25 are possible (even if not recommended because of the high per unit cost). Much of the cost of silk screening CD-Rs is in the setup charges - that is why it makes sense to do as many as possible. Our price list has the setup charges included in the per unit amount for easier comparison.

Silk screen printing of blank CD-Rs opens up a variety of options, some are listed here:

  1. The ability to adjust or make updates to the CD content while keeping the same look
  2. CD artwork can be standardized with new info being added (printed) as updates are released.
  3. Dates, version numbers, serial numbers, etc. can be added to pre-printed CD-Rs
  4. More color options (true PMS matching, metallics, etc.) are available than with thermal or label printing.
